![]() This is something small that God showed me a few months ago when I went through a couple major things, I wanted to share it with the church but for whatever reasons didn't. God's just recently reminded me of it and I thought it's better late than never. This is nothing groundbreaking or anything you haven't heard before - it was something I'd heard/read about many times but sometimes that knowledge is 'useless' (or at least unbeneficial) until it becomes more real to us, and that's what happened with me. Last fall, a few weeks after getting back from europe and trying to settle back into normal life, a couple of big things really disrupted my plans - one of which was finding out about my moms health. It was a tough time. Though my problems were very different, they were similar in that they made feel very helpless. Throughout my life - especially in the last 8/9 years - I've gone through enough things to say that I feel like I truly trust God in that I know even the 'bad' things we seem to go through turn out to be a part of an intricate plan. This is something I still believe - and did at that time too - but it doesn't necessarily make it easy to deal with any situation. Yes, I know God's ALWAYS in control and that He's allowing whatever's happened to happen, but we (I) still have to live through that experience. It's one of those things thats much easier said than done. Anyway, one night, this is what God made me realize: today, worry about today. Today, give the day to God and let Him lead you through it. So simple. We've all heard it so much. But when it really hits home it's something else. It can/should be applied to anything. Negative and positive. I've heard some youth wonder how they could stop doing something they don't like for good. God says, TODAY give the day to me and don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow can worry about itself. I've heard others say they don't know how long they could serve God/His body (this much). God says, just do it today, let Him be the king of today and plan your tomorrow. Again, I know this is something so simple that it probably won't impace you as it did on me - but I wanted to share it anyway. Since then, my prayers always start with the little phrase "God, today is yours, do with it as you will". - Mike
